A letter to our Readers
November 2023
Who are your real-life heroes? Some might immediately think of superheroes like Spiderman, Superman, or Ironman. But let’s dig deeper. Who in your own life do you truly look up to and admire? At Chantilly Living, we’re excited to spotlight a genuine hometown hero this month—someone who risks life and limb daily to selflessly serve the community.

Please read the incredible story of Caleb Mitchell and learn what led him to become a firefighter. We also want to extend heartfelt thanks to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue for their assistance and for cultivating strong, caring leadership within their ranks. The brave men and women who put on their turnout gear each day, ready to battle blazes, engage in rescue missions, and respond to medical emergencies are the true superheroes among us. It’s reassuring to know they have a solid team supporti-
ng them.
On another note, does having a harmonious environme- nt and a calmer, more meditative mental state with reduced stress appeal to you? I’d say most of us would enthusiastically say “Sign me up!” You won’t want to miss the story on page 6 about about relieving stress.
We greatly appreciate all of the feedback and responses from our readers. Thank you for reaching out and sharing your thoughts – we love hearing from you! As a reminder, we continue to welcome community submissions. Do you have a story you’d like to share? Please email it. Know someone you think would make a great cover feature? We’d love your nomination—simply provide their name, email, and/or phone number so we can contact them. And yes, feel free to nominate yourself or your family!
As always, huge thanks go out to our advertisers who help make this magazine possible. We encourage you to look them up and shop local when you can. Your support means so much.
Kevin
